Incorporated in March of 2002, Security Construction Services acquired
Security Fence Co., a company with 90 years of experience in fabricating and installing all styles of fencing. Building on that rich history, Security Construction Services developed comparable capabilities in commercial and government contracting with expertise in perimeter security, anti-terrorist fencing, intrusion barriers, and access control.
Certifications
- The Company is certified as a disadvantaged, woman-owned business
(DBE/WBE) at both the state (SOMWBA) and
Federal (8a)
Levels. Its 8(a) certification runs through May 2013. Its SOMWBA certification renews every other year. Security Construction is a proud member of the Better Business Bureau. The Company is currently working to establish itself as a DCAM certified contractor for the state of Massachusetts.

Meet
the Security Construction Services
Team of Professionals
Security
Construction Services is led by an experienced family partnership in
Janet and Christopher Ceddia. They are joined by a distinctive and
well experienced group of project managers.
In
her role as President, Janet Ceddia leads a team of 25 employees and
a broad array of strong partnerships with many subcontractors. Her
primary areas of focus include sales and marketing, finance, office
administration, and new business development.
She holds a BA from Colby
College in Government/ Political Science and a Masters in Business
Administration from The Harvard Business School. With over four
years’ experience with the management consulting firm of McKinsey
& Company, a world leader in advising the senior executives at
Fortune 100 companies, and prior work as an Executive Director of
Teach For America, Janet brings significant business acumen to her
management of Security Construction Services.

As
Vice President, Christopher Ceddia oversees all field installations,
product fabrication, fleet management and government contracts.
A decorated veteran
of the US Navy, Christopher holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering
from Northeastern University. He brings to Security Construction
Services, project management and product design experience from the
software and medical device industries. He has been certified in the
installation and operation of crash-barrier, anti-terrorist fencing
and associated high security equipment. He is a member of the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

project management approach starts with deeply experienced managers
who are guided by systems that enable us to monitor performance and
progress against established baselines, and provide information on a
real-time basis to support expedited decision making. These
capabilities ensure we can proactively respond to new/changing

Bonding/Banking/Insurance

In partnership with Gencorp, a leader
in construction risk management, Security Construction Services
boasts a bonding limit of up to $20 M. Individual limits are
assessed on a project by project basis with recent bonding support
extended to a project value of over $5 million.
SCS is also well supported by a dedicated team of bankers, ensuring the company’s financial stability.
In partnership with DeSanctis
Insurance, Security Construction Services consistently runs a bonded
backlog of more than $15 M with capacity for more. Individual bond
limits are assessed on a project by project basis.
Supported by Gencorp and EMC,
Security Construction Services boasts business insurance coverage
limits above industry standards, including general liability,
umbrella, and workers compensation, listing all of its owners and
partners as additionally insured.
Security Construction Services enjoys
a strong partnering relationship with its primary banker, Middlesex
Bank, where it places most of its operating accounts and benefits
from substantial working capital support.
